This blog has been a long time coming. For a while, I did not think what I had to say would interest anyone or be anything special. But I have realized over the past several months that even if only my mom reads this, writing about my experiences in science is something I need to do for me. My work in graduate school is extremely analytical and data driven. I miss the creative outlet that writing provides, thus #ActualLivingScientist was born.
Over the next several months, I plan to tell my science story. For a long time, I tried to convince myself to do anything but science. Science is hard; it required a lot of math (which I do not enjoy!), nor were my friends excited about it. But something always drew me to science and countless mentors showed me that there was room for me in science.
Thus, I hope you enjoy my babbles and have as much fun reading as I do writing this.
