About
I'm Sarah Benish, a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science (AOSC). I am originally from Wisconsin, where I studied biology, environmental studies, and global health. Growing up in Oshkosh, the birthplace of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), I was interested in aviation from a young age. My passion in aviation ultimately led me to do air pollution research using data collected by research aircraft. As a graduate student, part of my job includes flying on a twin engine Cessna research aircraft to study air pollution in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area. I'm excited to share my story about my journey in science and what it's like to be an #ActualLivingScientist!
